Hi, we are Don Moody and Jacqui Moody, the creators of WordWorld. If you're stumbling upon WordWorld for the first time, welcome! We started this blog as a way to start a dialogue with WordWorld vierwers about how the show is impacting their every day lives. Write to me at info@wordworld.com, to share your WordWorld stories! Creating this show has been a wonderful adventure. Thanks to parents, caregivers, educators, and of course our young WordFriends, the show has taken on a life of its own. I hope you'll stop by often to get ideas about using the show's innovative literacy strategies, and share with me your WordWorld experiences!

This Week: Because We Care

Hi WordFriends,

I'm interested in the role that you think media plays in young children's lives. In what ways does media have a positive affect on young children's lives? How do you strike a balance between getting the most innovative technology and media for your child, and keeping them from being addicted to the screen?

Feel free to share your thoughts with other members of the WordWorld community here.

Activity of the Day!

Hey WordWorld moms, dads, and teachers,

Today's activity has to do with the letter B. Download this fun activity here! Brainstorm some other words that start with B. You might even want to take a break and watch "The Birds" episode, which you can find on iTunes!

Teachable Moment of the Week

Seth and Rachel wrote to WordWorld this week with a story about their 3 year-old daughter Miranda:

"I'd like to share a story about my then three-year-old daughter, Miranda. We'd just dropped my son, Duncan, off at school and had pulled into our garage. After shutting the garage door, I pretended that we were stuck in the car. Miranda, sweet thing, says, "Mommy, calm down and think things through." After laughing so hard at what she said, I found out she got it from Word World! What an observant little gal!"

Duck's Alphabet works!

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited about the research I just received. According to a recently conducted study...
